News Hope Davis Set for Upcoming Movie, "The Family Tree" Tony Award nominee Hope Davis will star in the new movie "The Family Tree," which will have a theatrical release in New York and Los Angeles Aug. 26, according to Variety.

The film will then be distributed by Entertainment One via digital stream, home video, video on demand and television.

"The Family Tree," directed by Vivi Friedman with a script by Mark Lisson, focuses on the dysfunctional Burnett family. Davis stars opposite Dermot Mulroney ("My Best Friend's Wedding") as the mother of the family, Bunnie Burnett, who was injured in a freak accident and left with a case of amnesia giving the family an unexpected second chance at happiness.

The cast also features Max Thieriot, Brittany Robertson and Chi McBride, and is produced by Allan Jones, J. Todd Harris, Mark Lisson and Kathy Weiss.

Davis was nominated for a Tony for her performance in God of Carnage and has also been seen on Broadway in Ivanov and Two Shakespearean Actors.
