Classic Arts News Houston Symphony Names Conducting Fellow Conductor Rebecca Miller has been named an American Conducting Fellow at the Houston Symphony, the orchestra announced.
Miller will conduct the orchestra and work with music director Hans Graf and other staff members under the auspices of the American Symphony Orchestra League's Conducting Fellows Program. The program is intended to provide musical training as well as experience with the practical issues needed to lead an American orchestra.

Miller is the founder and music director of the New Professionals Orchestra in London. She studied at Oberlin Conservatory, the Northwestern University School of Music, and the Royal College of Music, and has served as an assistant to Leon Botstein at the Jerusalem Symphony and the Bard Festival.

Miller said, "The Fellows Program provides the invaluable opportunity to work full-time with a prestigious orchestra, to gain experience in education work, and to learn the inner workings of a large symphony orchestra both on and off the podium."
