Palo Alto's TheatreWorks will present the Northern California premiere of Tina Howe's Pride's Crossing, Aug. 25 - Sept. 19. Pride's Crossing explores the fictional life of feisty, 91-year-old Mabel Tidings Bigelow, who relives her experiences swimming the English channel, and the aftermath, through flashbacks. Pride's Crossing won the 1998 New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Play.
Amy Glazer will direct the piece, with a cast including: Maureen Silliman (Mabel), Amy Resnick, Mark Phillips, Michael Santo, Cynthia Bassham, Jonathan Ingbretson and Hannah Friedman.
Other Howe plays include Painting Churches and Museum.
