The 5:30 PM concert at the Manhattan book store will feature the talents of Cady Huffman, Megan Lawrence, Laura Marie Duncan, Mike McGowan, Angie Schworer, Jonathan Kay and Kerry Conte. John Bell, music director of both the York revival and the new recording, will be featured at the piano with Jordan Jancz on bass. Mary Louise, who understudied Barbara McNair in the original 1958 production of The Body Beautiful, will make a special guest appearance. Body Beautiful creators Jerry Bock, Sheldon Harnick and Joseph Stein will also be part of the event. The trio will take part in a discussion about the gestation of the musical moderated by David Glenn Armstrong, who helmed the York's revival.
The cast recording of The Body Beautiful on the Original Cast Records label is available at the Lincoln Triangle Barnes & Noble, Colony Records and at the York Theatre. The new CD also features the talents of Brad Oscar, Capathia Jenkins, Stephen Bienskie, Ryan Duncan, John Eric Parker, Patrick Richwood and Jim Sorensen.

The Body Beautiful features a book by Joseph Stein and Will Glickman, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and music by Jerry Bock. The musical, according to press notes, concerns "a wealthy Dartmouth College graduate who wishes to be a prize-winning boxer and the girl he loves who disapproves of his ambitions. His fight manager must deal with uninspired fighters, two ex-wives and a new girlfriend."
The Body Beautiful originally opened at the Broadway Theatre Jan. 23, 1958. George Schaefer directed a cast that included Mindy Carson, Steve Forrest, Jack Warden, Barbara McNair, William Hickey and Brock Peters.
