News Hunter Foster Will Direct Industry Reading of New Musical On the Air; Casting Announced An industry reading of the new musical On the Air, based on the lives of sibling performers Jack and Loretta Clemens, will be presented Sept. 22 in Manhattan.

Tony nominee Hunter Foster will direct a cast that includes Ruth Gottschall as Mrs. Clemens, Robert and Cristina Farruggia as Jack and Loretta Clemens, respectively, and Ryan Vasquez as Fred Tupper. The ensemble will feature Nicole Colòn, Mark Hawbecker, Adam Hill, TJ Larke, Sharon Malane and Katelyn Spinosa.

The new musical features a book by real-life siblings Robert and Cristina Farruggia, who also co-wrote the lyrics, with music by Robert Farruggia.

Musical direction will be provided by Paul Masse.

On the Air, according to press notes, is "an original musical based on the lives of Jack and Loretta Clemens, a real life brother and sister duo that started in Vaudeville and went on to star in Radio and Television. It's a story that deals with major changes in society and entertainment throughout the early half of the 20th century, but at its core, the story focuses on the siblings' relationship and the balance of their dreams."
