Noah Himmelstein, who assistant-directed the Broadway revival Golden Boy and the new musical The Bridges of Madison County, will stage the two performances of I Am Harvey Milk, June 27-28 at the Nourse Auditorium in San Francisco. The work is a SFGMC commission.

In addition to the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus, the work will feature a boy-soprano as Young Harvey Milk, with an adult actor to portray the adult version of the first openly-gay man to hold public office in California. A female soprano will also be part of the piece.

Big Fish producer Bruce Cohen and Robb Nanus produce the work that features original music by Lippa (Big Fish, The Wild Party, The Addams Family, jon & jen), which will utilize some of Milk's actual words for the lyrics.

Additional details on the musical work will be revealed shortly. For more about San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus, visit sfgmc.org.
