News I Come for Love, with Langel and Barbara, Lands at NYMF Sept. 30 The NYMF presentation of Terrence Atkins and Jeffrey Lyle Segal's musical I Come for Love begins performances at the American Theatre of Actors Sept. 30

Jodie Langel, a veteran of Les Miserables and the Florida tryout of A Tale of Two Cities, appears alongside Joe Barbara (1994 revival of Grease!, "All My Children") in the intergalactic musical that runs through Oct. 5.

Featuring book, music and lyrics by Terrence Atkins and Jeffery Lyle Segal, Michael Berry (Les Miserables) directs a cast that also features Anna Eilinsfeld, Adam Hose, Michael Maricondi, Jarid Faubel, Michele Foor, Mitch Poulos, Dan Guller, Stephanie Pam Roberts, Chris Fitz, Bill Corey, Gael Shaefer and Katie Sina.

Press notes for the NYMF production read: "Sparks and saucers fly in this charming new musical when an emotional alien girl from an unemotional planet, Nine-O, comes to Roswell to find romance and falls in love with Joe 'Scoop' O’Reilly, a down-on-his luck reporter who needs a big story to get back in the game. When he finds out that the new waitress in the diner is more than she seems to be, will he chose the love of his life or the story of the century?"

The creative team includes Michelle Weber (choreography), Kim Steiner (musical direction), Joseph Gourley (set design), Keith Schneider (costume design), Chris Studley (lighting design) and David Margolin Lawson (sound design).
