I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, the Energizer Bunny of Off Broadway musical revues, starts its sixth year at the Westside Theatre Aug. 1. With more than 2,000 performances under its belt, the hit revue about dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives and in-laws has tallied more performances than the original Broadway runs of The King and I, Guys and Dolls, Cabaret and Evita.

On Jan. 7, Perfect/Change became the longest-running musical revue in Off-Broadway history, its 1,848 performances besting former title-holder Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris.

Since opening Aug. 1, 1996, the musical has grossed more than $18 million in New York and more than $40,000,000 worldwide. According to the Bill Evans & Associates press office, P/C has also inspired ten onstage marriage proposals (all accepted).

Andrea Chamberlain, Adam Hunter, Jordan Leeds and Marylee Graffeo are the current castmembers. Joe DiPietro (book and lyrics) and Jimmy Roberts (composer) have had success with the show throughout the world, in more than 20 resident stagings. DiPietro's other projects include Over the River and Through the Woods and a revised version of the Gershwin tuner Oh, Kay!, titled They All Laughed, currently debuting at Goodspeed Musicals. Joel Bishoff directs the New York staging, which one critic famously regarded as being like "Seinfeld" set to music.
