Andrea Burns, who plays sassy hairdresser Daniela in the Tony-winning Broadway musical In the Heights, goes it solo at Feinstein's at Loews Regency May 4.

The 8:30 PM concert is part of the "The Actors Fund Broadway Series," which benefits the non-profit organization. Others scheduled for the series include the cast of [title of show] (Hunter Bell, Jeff Bowen, Susan Blackwell and Heidi Blickenstaff on May 11), Julia Murney (May 18) and Norm Lewis (June 1).

Burns will sing tunes from her new CD, "A Deeper Shade of Red." The actress said in a statement, "It's an eclectic evening. I celebrate my heroes, which include female singer/songwriters of the 1970's, my Latina mom, my Jewish dad, and quite frankly, Elaine Stritch."

The Actors Fund, which was founded in 1882, is a non-profit organization that provides for the social welfare of all entertainment professionals. Some of the many programs The Actors Fund provides include a nursing home and assisted living care facility; senior and disabled programs; mental health services; chemical dependency services; entertainment industry assistance programs; the Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative; the AIDS Initiative; and supportive housing on both coasts.

All admission proceeds will go directly to the assistance of professionals in performing arts and entertainment in times of need, crisis or transition.

Andrea Burns received a Drama Desk Award for her performance in the Off-Broadway run of In the Heights. She has also been seen on Broadway in Beauty and the Beast and The Full Monty and Off-Broadway in Saturday Night, Sail Away! and Songs for a New World. Burns starred in the national tours of Parade and The Full Monty, and her regional credits include 1776, Oklahoma!, Evita and West Side Story.
