News In the Heights Cast Recording in Stores June 3; Cast Will Sign CDs June 5 The two-disc Broadway cast album for In the Heights, the new musical nominated for 13 Tony Awards, is in stores starting June 3.

The Ghostlight Records release includes 23 tracks on two CDs and a 68-page booklet containing cast photos and song lyrics.

The album was produced by Andres Levin and Ghostlight president Kurt Deutsch.

Now at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, In the Heights is billed as "the quintessential New York musical, about a vibrant and tight-knit community at the top of the island of Manhattan. The music pulses with the hopes and dreams of three generations as they struggle to forge an identity in a neighborhood on the brink of transition."

It was conceived by Lin-Manuel Miranda; with book by Quiara Alegría Hudes; music and lyrics by Miranda; orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire and Bill Sherman; direction by Thomas Kail and choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler. Music director is Alex Lacamoire.

Principal cast members of In the Heights will celebrate the release of the album with a June 5 in-store performance at Virgin Megastore in Times Square. The special event begins at 5 PM (at 1540 Broadway, at 46th Street) and will feature songs performed by cast members. A post-performance CD-signing will feature all 11 principals, including Andréa Burns, Janet Decal, Robin De Jesús, Carlos Gomes, Mandy Gonzalez, Christopher Jackson, Priscilla Lopez, Olga Merediz, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Karen Olivo and Seth Stewart.
