Negron replaces Carlos Gomez, who is heard on the show's original Broadway cast album. Kevin is the proud Puerto Rican-born Manhattan businessman whose life is turned upside down when daughter Nina returns from college. He sings the Act One life-story song "Inutil," about his farmer-father's past and his child's future. Priscilla Lopez plays his wife, Camila. (The role of Kevin was created by John Herrera in the 2007 Off-Broadway tryout.)

Negrón was born and raised in Puerto Rico and made his professional debut there at age 15 in The Me Nobody Knows. He appeared in Broadway's Leader of the Pack, Drood, Legs Diamond, …Spider Woman, Man of La Mancha and The Goodbye Girl, plus tours of West Side Story and Man of La Mancha. In Los Angeles his credits include Eating Raoul, Ragtime, Hair, The Ten Commandments, The Wild Party, plus the Las Vegas production of Mamma Mia!

In the Heights, winner of the 2008 Tony Award for Best Musical, is about the culturally diverse Manhattan neighborhood of Washington Heights, and the Latino community's place there at the start of the 21st century. "The music pulses with the hopes and dreams of three generations as they struggle to forge an identity in a neighborhood on the brink of transition," according to production notes.

The In the Heights cast features Andréa Burns, Janet Dacal, Tony Award nominee Robin De Jesús, Mandy Gonzalez, Marcy Harriell, Christopher Jackson, Priscilla Lopez, Tony Award nominee Olga Merediz, Tony winner (for score) Lin-Manuel Miranda and Seth Stewart leading a cast of 29. In the Heights began previews on Broadway Feb. 14, 2008, after a six-month award-winning 2007 Off-Broadway run. The musical opened on Broadway March 9, 2008, at the Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street), where it continues.

With a book by Quiara Alegría Hudes and conceived by Lin-Manuel Miranda, In the Heights has Tony Award-winning choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and is directed by Thomas Kail. Alex Lacamoire is music director, and the Tony Award- winning music arrangements are by Alex Lacamoire and Bill Sherman.

In the Heights is produced by Kevin McCollum, Jeffrey Seller, Jill Furman, Sander Jacobs, Robyn Goodman/Walt Grossman, Peter Fine and Sonny Everett/Mike Skipper with associate producers Ruth Hendel and Harold Newman.
