Franz will portray presidential candidate Governor Karen Werthman in Karl Gajdusek's work, which will begin previews Aug. 17 at Theatre Row's Lion Theatre. Directed by Andrew Volkoff, the production will play a limited engagement through Sept. 7 with an official opening Aug. 20. In the hands of her spin-master campaign manager the scandal is squelched…but at what cost to the candidate."

Joy Franz has been seen on Broadway in Into the Woods, Open Admissions, Musical Chairs, Pippin and Guys and Dolls. Her regional credits include roles in Company, A Little Night Music and The Gingerbread Lady.

Show times are Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 3 PM. Tickets, priced $18, are available by calling (212) 279-4200 or by visiting www.ticketcentral.com.
