News Irish Rep Will Present Dylan Thomas' A Child's Christmas in Wales in Concert The Irish Repertory Theatre will reinvent Dylan Thomas' "A Child's Christmas in Wales" with a concert presentation beginning Off-Broadway Dec. 7, prior to an official opening Dec. 11, at the company's W. Scott McLucas Studio Theatre.

Charlotte Moore, who helms the company's current production of Brian Friel's Dancing at Lughnasa—which was recently extended through Jan. 15, 2012—will direct. John Bell will be musical director. The limited engagement will continue through Dec. 31. Casting will be announced at a later date.

A Child's Christmas in Wales in Concert, according to Irish Rep, "features both traditional and contemporary Christmas music interwoven within the classic story of the legendary snowy Christmas Day in Wales."

Other members of the creative team include costume designer David Toser, lighting designer Michael O'Connor and production stage manager April A. Kline.

The Irish Repertory Theatre, founded by Ciarán O'Reilly and Moore in 1988, brings works by Irish and Irish-American masters and contemporary playwrights to American audiences, to provide a context for understanding the contemporary Irish-American experience, and to encourage the development of new works focusing on the Irish and Irish-American experience.
