Penned by Emmy-winning "South Park" writers Matt Stone and Trey Parker, along with Tony-winning Avenue Q co-creator Robert Lopez, The Book of Mormon opened to critical raves March 24 and has become one of the hottest tickets in town.

Friedman, who is also among the musical's Broadway producing team, told the Times that she hoped to import the musical to the West End "sometime next year." She is currently represented on Broadway with the Tony-nominated imports of London's Jerusalem and Arcadia, as well as the revival of John Guare's The House of Blue Leaves.

The musical centers on a mismatched pair of Mormon missionaries who venture from Salt Lake City to AIDS-ravaged Uganda in the hopes of converting villagers with the story of Joseph Smith and the founding of the Mormon Church. The problem is: Only one of them has actually read the book.

Parker co-directed the musical with Casey Nicholaw (The Drowsy Chaperone, Spamalot); the production picked up 14 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Direction, Best Original Score, Best Book and Best Choreography.
