Directed by John Bowab, the show was originally scheduled to play the Little Shubert through Jan. 28, 2007. A new block of tickets was recently put on sale with seats available through April 1.
In a statement writer-performer Solomon said, "I am thrilled with the response that our show is getting from New York audiences. I suppose with all of the holidays, people are happy to sit back for 90 minutes and laugh at someone else's family for a change. Bring your family to meet my family at The Little Shubert Theatre. A ticket will run you half the price of a therapy session and I promise you that you will laugh more."
Producers are Rodger Hess, Abby Koffler, Howard Rapp, Arnold Graham and Ed Frankel.
Italian + Jewish = Therapy, according to press notes, "relate to the wacky side of the human condition, combining comic voices, sound effects and astounding characters — bringing alive a myriad of people from all walks of life."
About his show, Solomon said in a recent statement, "It's so exciting to be bringing my show home to New York with such a talented group of professionals — especially my new director, John Bowab. Now, each and every one of the 30+ characters from my past that I bring to life on stage, can sue me personally for defamation of character. Come to think of it, even my ex’s attorney will know where I'll be most nights. . . . Maybe I should re-think this a bit." My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish & I'm in Therapy! plays Wednesday-Saturday evenings at 8 PM and Sundays at 7:30 PM with matinees Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 3 PM. Tickets, priced $35-$65, are available by calling (212) 239-6200. The Little Shubert Theatre is located in Manhattan at 422 West 42nd Street.
