The National Theatre has announced complete casting for its touring production of Hedda Gabler, directed by Tony-winning director Ivo van Hove (The Crucible and A View From The Bridge on Broadway). In the title role will be Lizzy Watts, whose theatre credits include Strife at Chichester Festival Theatre, A Midsummer Night's Dream at The Globe, and Midsomer Murders on television.

Following a sold-out run at the National Theatre earlier this year, Patrick Marber’s new adaptation of the Ibsen classic will begin its U.K. tour October 2 at the Theatre Royal Plymouth.
“It has been a huge honour to work with the great Ivo van Hove on this version of Hedda Gabler at the National Theatre,” commented Tony-nominated playwright Marber in a press statement. “I am thrilled that this tour will enable more people to see his incredible production.”
Hedda Gabler will continue on to Edinburgh, Leicester, Salford, Norwich, Hull, Aberdeen, Northampton, Glasgow, Wolverhampton, Woking, Nottingham, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, York, and Milton Keynes, where the tour finishes March 3, 2018.
The production will feature set and lighting design by Jan Versweyveld, costume design by An D’Huys, and sound by Tom Gibbons. The associate directors are Jeff James and Rachel Lincoln.
