J Mandle Performance, an experimental arts group, will present the premiere of Return, an exploration of both spatial and conceptual themes through the company's trademark, costume-defined choreography at GAle GAtes et al., Dec. 5-22.
The performance shows how seemingly insignificant choices can set off events for entire lifetimes. It is inspired by the story of a World War II soldier who is stuck in the present and must navigate the distressed mazes of his mind.
This performance is the first performed indoors for the company, but they should fit right in to GAle GAtes' 40,000 foot warehouse space.
First developed in December of last year, the show will premiere at GAle GAtes and then move on to be adapted at the Brooklyn Arts Exchange.
The J Mandle Performance group is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1996 by Julia Mandle, who also conceived, designed and directed Return. Other designers include music by Paul Geluso, lighting by Aaron Copp, set design with Adrian jones, costumes with Johanna Bartha and choreography with Stacey Napoleone.
