Hoffman, who starred in multiple roles in the original cast of Broadway's Hairspray, will again off her acclaimed evening, The Kvetching Continues, Jan. 21 at 8 PM and Jan. 23 at 7 PM. Presented by the Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Program, Kvetching features direction by Michael Schiralli. In her one-woman show, the comedic actress skewers her Broadway debut and also offers a handful of original songs, including "Three Minutes on Broadway"; a reworking of Stephen Sondheim's "I'm Still Here," sung from the perspective of a spoiled child actress; a tribute to the Jewish holiday "Shavuot"; "Eurotrash," based on her recent let-down-of-a-trip to Italy; and "Gay Baby," a lament about the unavailability of her gay friends (and former playmates) who are now having children.
Jackie Hoffman received a Theatre World Award for her work in Hairspray. Her other theatrical credits include Book of Liz (Obie Award), Straightjacket, Incident at Cobbler's Knob and One Woman Shoe (Jeff Award). Hoffman has been seen on screen in "Legally Blonde II," "Kissing Jessica Stein," "Large's Ark," "Mo' Money" and "Freaky Friday."
