News   Jackie Hoffman to Host Research In Action Awards Nov. 9
Xanadu's Jackie Hoffman will host the upcoming Research In Action Awards for the AIDS advocacy group TAG on Dec. 9.

Treatment Action Group (TAG), will present its annual awards gala honoring individuals who have made significant impacts on AIDS research and activism. Among the honorees are Christine Quinn, City Council Speaker; David Mixner, author, political strategist, civil rights activist and public affairs advisor; and Dr. Jim Yong Kim, head of Francois-Xavier Bagnoud Center for Health and Human Rights at Harvard School of Public Health who formerly served as HIV Director at WHO.

Obie Award winner Jackie Hoffman, who currently stars as Calliope in Broadway's Xanadu, made her Broadway debut in the hit musical Hairspray. Her credits also include The Sisters Rosensweig, Regrets Only, Book of Liz, Straightjacket, Incident at Cobbler's Knob and One Woman Shoe. Hoffman's extensive comedy and cabaret performances include If You Call This Living, The Kvetching Continues, Jackie Hoffman's Hanukkah, Jackie's Kosher Khristmas, Jackie's Valentine's Day Massacre, and Jackie with a Z.

The Research In Action Awards will be held at the Drawing Center, located at 35 Wooster Street in Manhattan on Dec. 9 from 6-8PM. Tickets for the event begin at $150 and are available by calling (212) 253-7922 or www.treatmentactiongroup.org
