The comedic actress — best known to Broadway audiences for the several characters she played in the Tony-winning musical Hairspray — brings her latest show, Jackie with a Z, to the intimate cabaret located within the Public Theater. Hoffman is scheduled to perform at Joe’s Pub Feb. 12, 19 and 27 and March 5 and 19. Michael Schiralli directs the evenings with musical direction by Bobby Peaco. Show time is 7:30 PM.

In her newest show, according to press notes, Hoffman "skewers regional theater, the Upper West Side and gives a blow by blow account of her six day ordeal at Mt. Sinai having her hysterectomy."

Hoffman’s previous outings at Joe’s Pub were titled Chanukah at Joe's Pub and the critically acclaimed The Kvetching Continues, which she premiered at the downtown venue and later brought to Hollywood's The Renberg Theatre. In Kvetching, Hoffman skewered her Broadway debut and also offered a handful of original songs, including "Three Minutes on Broadway"; a reworking of Stephen Sondheim's "I'm Still Here," sung from the perspective of a spoiled child actress; a tribute to the Jewish holiday "Shavuot"; "Eurotrash," based on a recent let-down-of-a-trip to Italy; and "Gay Baby," a lament about the unavailability of her gay friends (and former playmates) who are now having children.

Jackie Hoffman received a Theatre World Award for her work in Hairspray. Her other theatrical credits include The Sisters Rosensweig, Regrets Only, Book of Liz (Obie Award), Straightjacket, Incident at Cobbler's Knob and One Woman Shoe (Jeff Award). Hoffman has been seen on screen in "Legally Blonde II," "Kissing Jessica Stein," "Garden State," "Mo' Money" and "Freaky Friday."

Joe's Pub is located at 425 Lafayette Street, between East 4th Street and Astor Place. Tickets, priced at $25, are available at the Public Theater's box office or by calling (212) 967-7555. Visit www.joespub.com for more information.
