Recent Tony Awards host James Corden and Australian actress Rose Byrne, seen on Broadway in You Can't Take It with You, are currently in talks to star in Sony's live-action/CG hybrid Peter Rabbit, based on the Beatrix Potter children's classic.

The Hollywood Reporter says that Corden, a Tony winner for his performance in One Man, Two Guvnors, would provide the voice for Peter Rabbit; Byrne would be seen in one of the live-action parts.

Will Gluck will direct the Sony film, which is described as a “modern interpretation centering on the rivalry between mischievous young hopper Peter Rabbit and Mr. McGregor, a senior trying to keep a rabbit-free garden,” according to the industry website.

No timetable has been announced for the film.
