Simultaneously playing George in Broadway's Of Mice and Men and directing a premiere play at one of New York's edgiest and most respected Off-Broadway companies is no small feat; but Franco is currently in rehearsals for Boswell's new play The Long Shrift at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater set to begin performances July 7 with an opening night July 13.
The play is billed as follows, "Richard Singer, a dorky teenage boy is accused and thrown in jail for rape, tearing his parents apart. Now, nine years later, Richard is out of jail and his accuser is back in his life."
The Long Shrift is presented as part of Rattlestick's 20th anniversary and begins a streak of new premieres that the company, headed by David Van Asselt, will present in the 2014-2015 season.
