Standby-to-the-stars Jana Robbins will bring her acclaimed Cy Coleman tribute, One Hell of a Ride!, to Los Angeles' The Gardenia on Mondays, July 15 and 29 at 9 PM. Robbins first met composer Coleman when she worked with him on his musical I Love My Wife. Coleman, who caught the singer-actress' show in a previous New York engagement, commented, "It was one hell of a ride! It's the most compelling performance I've seen in, I can't tell you when. It was heartfelt. What she did was, for me, an amazing thing. She took the music, my music, and the lyrics, of course, and she wove it into a story that was so revealing about her and her life, that I'd forgotten I'd written that music, I got caught up in Jana Robbins. It was a journey through the life of my work, but it was really a story about Jana Robbins."

Robbins made her Broadway debut in the 1975 revival of the musical comedy Good News. She stoodby for Alison Fraser in the four-person musical Romance, Romance and received much acclaim as Tyne Daly's standby in the award-winning revival of Gypsy. She is currently a standby in Charles Busch's The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, and come September, she will assume the role of Lee opposite Valerie Harper in the show's national tour.

The Gardenia is located at 7066 Santa Monica Boulevard in Los Angeles, CA. There is a $15 cover and a two-drink minimum, and reservations may be made by calling (323) 467-7444.
