The album, Moran's sixth for Blue Note, features two of Moran's regular sidemen, bassist Tarus Mateen and drummer Nasheet Waits, as well as guitarist Marvin Sewell. Moran's source material is typically wide-ranging: the album includes takes on bluesman Albert King's "I'll Play the Blues for You" and Prokofiev's "The Field of the Dead" from the composer's score for the Eisenstein film Alexander Nevsky.

Trumpeter Chris Botti's When I Fall in Love, a collection of standards, remained at number one for the 15th week. Albums enjoying sales gains included Harry Connick Jr.'s Only You, which moved from number seven to number six, and Renee Olstead's self-titled debut, which moved from number eight to number seven.

On the contemporary jazz chart, Kenny G's At Last... The Duets Album moved back into the number one spot after being displaced last week by Pat Metheny's The Way Up, which dropped to number two. 3rd Force's Driving Force and Bobby Caldwell's Perfect Island Nights debuted at number 11 and number 20, respectively.
