Sept. 26-27, Tony Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown will lead a nine-piece chamber orchestra in new and familiar compositions from his career, followed by a discussion of his creative process and a reception for the artist.

Brown first appeared as a musical theatre composer with his revue, Songs for a New World, produced Off-Broadway at the WPA Theatre, starring two of the Guggenheim concert's performers, Brooks Ashmanskas and Jessica Molaskey. In 1998, he made his Broadway debut with Lincoln Center's production of Parade. With a book by Alfred Uhry (Driving Miss Daisy), Parade won Brown a Tony Award for Best Score. Two of his songs, "Stars and the Moon" and "You Don't Know This Man," were featured on Audra McDonald's debut CD, "Way Back To Paradise" with "Stars and the Moon" sung on her Boston Pops concert special.

Singing with Ashmanskas (Little Me, How to Succeed in Business) and Molaskey (Parade, The Who's Tommy) are Keith Byron Kirk (The Civil War, A New Brain), Randy Redd (Parade), James Barbour (Jane Eyre, Beauty and the Beast), Jill Geddes, Stacy Francis (Footloose), and Brooke Sunny Moriber (Parade).

A reception with Brown and the performers will follow the concerts in the Frank Lloyd Wright rotunda.
