Pianist Jean-Yves-Thibaudet performs extensively on the soundtrack for the forthcoming film Pride & Prejudice, based on the Jane Austen novel. The soundtrack album on Decca was released yesterday.

Thibaudet is accompanied by the English Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Benjamin Wallfisch.

The film will be seen in some cities on November 11 and around the country starting November 23.

The film stars Keira Knightly as Elizabeth Bennet, Donald Sutherland as Mr. Bennet, and Brenda Blethyn as Mrs. Bennet; Joe Wright is the director. The score is by Dario Marianelli, the composer of music for The Brothers Grimm and other films.

Born in Lyon, France, Thibaudet studied at the Paris Conservatory. He won the Prix du Conservatoire at the age of 15 and the Young Concert Artists auditions at 18. He has performed in solo recital, with orchestras, and in collaboration with Ren_e Fleming, Cecilia Bartoli, Angelika Kirchschlager, and others. An exclusive Decca artist, he has made more than 30 recordings for the label.
