Golden Globe-nominated actress and platinum-selling singer Jennifer Lopez and Grammy-winning singer/songwriter and Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler will join Randy Jackson in the judges' chairs for the tenth season of "American Idol."

Jimmy Iovine, chairman of Interscrope Geffen A&M Records, will also appear throughout the season as an in-house mentor for the singers on Fox's hit reality vocal competition.

Longtime "Idol" judge and producer Simon Cowell, and fellow judges Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi left the show after this past season.

Lopez, a Golden Globe nominee for "Selena," has also appeared in the films "The Back-up Plan," "Monster-In-Law," "The Wedding Planner," "Maid in Manhattan," "Shall We Dance?," "El Cantate," "Bordertown" and "Out of Sight," among others. Her latest album, "Love?," will be released in December.

Tyler and Aerosmith's iconic songs include “Dream On,” “Walk This Way,” “Sweet Emotion,” “Toys In The Attic,” “Janie’s Got A Gun,” “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing,” “Livin’ On The Edge,” “Cryin,” “Crazy,” “Amazing,” “ Pink,” “Love In An Elevator,” “Dude (Looks Like A Lady)" and “Mama Kin." They have also appeared in “Wayne’s World,” “The Simpsons” and at the Super Bowl XXXV Halftime Show in 2001. Tyler’s autobiography, “Does The Noise In My Head Bother You?,” is set for release in early 2011

"American Idol" contestants often end up on Broadway or in film.
