ABC News anchor Peter Jennings may have been handed the ultimate theatre news scoop when he agreed to interview Tony Award-winning director Julie Taymor at the 92nd St. Y at 8 PM, May 31. Though the interview was planned well in advance, it ends up coinciding with the May 31 closing notice posted for The Green Bird, thus giving Jennings the enviable chance to discuss that theatre story in depth. Jennings is the anchor of ABC's "World News Tonight," and Taymor is the director of such award-winning productions as Walt Disney's The Lion King and Juan Darien, as well as The Green Bird, and the film, "Titus Andronicus."
Taymor's books include "Playing with Fire," "The Lion King: Pride Rock on Broadway," and "Titus: The Illustrated Screenplay."
