Directed by West Hyler (Jersey Boys, How the Grinch Stole Christmas) with musical direction by Larry Pressgrove ([title of show]), the cast also features Tony Award nominee Catherine Cox (Oh, Coward!; Baby), J. Elaine Marcos (Priscilla Queen of the Desert, A Chorus Line, The Wedding Singer), Jillian Louis (York's I'm Getting My Act Together…) and Kevin B. McGlynn (national tours of Kiss Me, Kate and Forbidden Broadway). Performances will continue through July 17.

Here's how the show is described: "Joseph Christiansen wants to be a great Maitre d' like his father who was killed in a freak flaming Bananas Foster accident. Against the wishes and warnings of his pill-pushing psychiatrist mother, young Joe leaves the safety of his small hometown and journeys to New York City to make it big in the glamorous world of food and beverage service. Will Joe succeed, or will he end up flambéd like his father?"

The musical, most recently seen as part of the York's Developmental Reading series, features a book and lyrics by Matthew Hardy with music by Randy Klein. Flambé Dreams was one of three finalists for the 2009 BMI Jerry Bock Excellence in Musical Theatre Award; composer Klein received the 2009 BMI Jerry Harrington award for his work on the musical.

Other members of the creative team include general manager Liz Ulmer, scenic and prop designer Melpomene Katakalos, lighting designer Christian DeAngelis, sound designer Andrew Keister, costume designer Emily DeAngelis, projection designer Michael Clark, production stage manager Sarah Tschirpke, technical director and production manager Michael Demyan, assistant director Brian Gillespie and assistant stage manager Lisa Sucharski.

Now in its ninth year, the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF), which provides a launching pad for the next generation of musicals, is the largest annual musical theatre event in America. The 45th Street Theatre is located at 354 West 45th Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenues. For more information and tickets, call (212) 352-3101 or visit NYMF.org or FlambeDreams.com.
