News Jessica Rush to Co-Star With Louise Pitre in Gypsy at Chicago Shakespeare Theater Jessica Rush, who stood by for the role of Louise in the 2008 Broadway revival of Gypsy, will co-star with Tony nominee Louise Pitre in the Chicago Shakespeare Theater production of that Tony-winning classic, which will begin performances in February 2014.

Pitre, known for her performances in Mamma Mia! and Les Misérables, will take on the role of Rose in a production to be staged by Gary Griffin (The Color Purple). Gypsy will run Feb. 6-March 23, 2014.

In addition to Rush as Louise, the cast will include Keith Kupferer as Herbie, Erin Burniston as June, Rengin Altay as Miss Cratchitt/Electra, Molly Callinan as Mazeppa, Barbara E. Robertson as Tessie Tura, Rhett Guter as Tulsa, Adam Fane as Angie and Joseph Sammour as Yonkers.

Also featured are Matt DeCaro, Maddie DePorter, Betsy Farrar, Marc Grapey, Kelly Anne Krauter, Dana Parker, Jared Rein and Cullen Rogers.

Complete casting will be announced shortly. 

The musical has a book by Arthur Laurents, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and music by Jule Styne.

The creative team includes Kevin Depinet (scenic design), Virgil C. Johnson (costume design), Philip S. Rosenberg (lighting design) and Ray Nardelli (sound design).
