Off-Broadway's Primary Stages has announced Jessica Sadowski Comas as the company's new director of development.

Primary Stages managing director Elliot Fox said in a statement, "We are thrilled to have Jessica on board, who brings with her solid experience in arts fundraising and a strong commitment to the theater. We look forward to strengthening our core support as we continue to build our fundraising capacity with Jessica as the Director of Development."

Comas previously worked at Florida State University and the now-defunct Coconut Grove Playhouse in individual giving and special events management. She also recently served as Manhattan Theatre Club's Manager, Institutional Giving. She holds an MFA in Theatre Management from FSU and a BA in Arts Administration from the University of Alabama (UA).

"Primary Stages is known for its focus on producing New York and world premieres and as a home for playwrights at all stages of their careers, including a number of America's most important contemporary playwrights," said Comas. "It is an honor to join this close-knit family of donors, subscribers, staff and artists as we work to enhance the landscape of the American Theater."

Primary Stages continues its current season with Donald Margulies' Shipwrecked! An Entertainment – The Amazing Adventures of Louis de Rougemont (As Told by Himself) (Jan. 27-March 7, 2009) and concludes with the world premiere of Tina Howe's new comedy Chasing Manet (March 24-May 2, 2009), featuring Tony Award winner Jane Alexander. The company is represented on Broadway by Horton Foote's Dividing the Estate.
