Peter Nichols, playwright of the well-received current revival of A Day in the Death of Joe Egg, will be the guest on this week's "Theater Talk." The weekly PBS talk show airs on April 11 at midnight (ET).

Nichols' plays have included So Long Life, Nicholodeon, Born in the Garden, Blue Murder, A Piece of My Mind, Poppy, Passion Play, Privates on Parade, Harding's Luck, The Freeway, Chez Nous, Forget-Me-Not-Lane, The National Health and The Hooded Terror. He has also penned numerous works for television and film — including co-authoring "Georgy Girl" — as well as a memoir "Feeling You're Behind." British Nichols is a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and won Evening Standard Best Play Awards in 1967, 1969, 1978 and 1982.

The Roundabout Theatre Company's production of Nichols' Joe Egg opened April 3 at The American Airlines Theatre. The revival, directed by Laurence Boswell, stars Eddie Izzard and Victoria Hamilton — from the London production — as well as Dana Ivey, Margaret Colin, Michael Gaston and Madeleine Martin.
