Mitchell will lead Harris in conversation at the Barnes & Noble in Union Square (33 East 17th Street) at 7 PM, coinciding with the book's Oct. 14 release.
"In this revolutionary, Joycean experiment in light celebrity narrative, actor/personality/carbon-based life-form Neil Patrick Harris lets you, the reader, live his life," the book's description states. "You will be born in New Mexico. You will get your big break at an acting camp. You will get into a bizarre confrontation outside a nightclub with actor Scott Caan.
"Even better, at each critical juncture of your life you will choose how to proceed," the description continues. "You will decide whether to try out for 'Doogie Howser, M.D.' You will decide whether to spend years struggling with your sexuality. You will decide what kind of caviar you want to eat on board Elton John's yacht."
Harris won the Tony Award for his performance in Hedwig and the Angry Inch. He has performed on Broadway in Assassins, as well as Cabaret and Proof, and in the New York Philharmonic production of Company. He has been honored with four Emmy Awards: three for his hosting of the Tony Awards and another for his guest-starring role on "Glee." He also served as host and producer of the 61st and 65th Primetime Emmy Awards.
