News John Lennon Biopic "Nowhere Boy" Will Be Adapted For the Stage; Paolo Nutini in Talks to Write Score Scottish singer-songwriter Paolo Nutini is in talks to write the score for a new musical based on the John Lennon biopic "Nowhere Boy," according to the British Daily Mail.

The 2009 film, based on the autobiography "Imagine This: Growing Up With My Brother John Lennon" by Julia Baird, chronicles the adolescence of Lennon, his relationships with his guardian aunt and his birth mother, the creation of his first band and the beginnings of the Beatles. Rupert Goold (Enron, Macbeth), who will direct the stage production, producer Sally Greene (Billy Elliot: The Musical) and Ecosse Films ("Nowhere Boy") are looking for an original score for the stage adaptation before they proceed.

Nutini's debut album, "These Streets," was released by Atlantic Records in the United Kingdom in July 2006. His single "Last Request" reached number five on the UK Singles Chart, and the album peaked at number three on the UK Album Chart. In May 2009 Nutini released his second album, "Sunny Side Up," which debuted at number one in the UK.
