Several of the musical theatre's male stars will take part in the Feb. 5 benefit concert The Leading Men II at Birdland. The 7 PM concert, hosted by former Avenue Q Tony nominee and current Beauty and the Beast star John Tartaglia, will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Produced by Wayman Wong — who penned the column "The Leading Men" for four years — the evening will feature the talents of Matt Cavenaugh (Grey Gardens), Adam Jacobs (Les Misérables), Telly Leung (Rent), Norm Lewis (Les Misérables), Perry Ojeda (On the Town), Hugh Panaro (Lestat), Daniel Reichard (Jersey Boys), Jason Michael Snow (The Pirates of Penzance) and Jim Walton (Merrily We Roll Along) as well as cabaret stars Tom Andersen, Jim Caruso, Tim Di Pasqua and David Gurland and "Playbill Yearbook" photographer Ben Strothmann.

Jonathan Groff, Christopher Sieber and John Lloyd Young, who were originally announced for the concert, have withdrawn due to scheduling conflicts.

Alan Muraoka directs the one-night-only event with musical direction by Seth Rudetsky.

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is the nation's largest industry-based, nonprofit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organization. The Leading Men II concert has been sold out for weeks, but depending on space, there might be a limited number of $50 bar seats sold at the door.
