News Johnson's The Two and Only Begins London Run June 25 Jay Johnson brings The Two and Only, his 2007 Tony Award winner for Best Special Theatrical Event, to London's Arts Theatre beginning June 25 prior to an official opening July 2.

The show, which played Broadway's Helen Hayes Theatre in the fall of 2006, will run in London through Sept. 28.

In this autobiographical blend of comedy and theatrical story-telling, Johnson presents an eclectic cast of characters including Darwin, a rare breed of jazz monkey who was born in a trunk in a comedy club; Spaulding, a tennis ball retired from the game after a particularly rough Andy Rodick match; and Bob, a product of the Hollywood star system and Jay's famous co-star in the 1970's international hit comedy "Soap."

Johnson first started performing at the age of 11 when he discovered his natural ability to make a cousin's doll come to life. In high school he produced and starred in his own television show sponsored by a local Dallas car dealership, which led to summers performing in various shows across Texas. After graduating Jay moved to Los Angeles to pursue his television career, and his TV credits are wide and varied. In the seventies he starred as Chuck and Bob alongside Billy Crystal in the classic television comedy "Soap." Most recently he has appeared on "Letterman."

The London production is produced by Clayton Collier Theatrical, Stewart F. Lane/Bonnie Comley, Tiger WGP and Martin Witts.
