Jomama Jones’ Black Light, which debuted last January at Joe's Pub as part of the Public Theater’s Under the Radar Festival and returned again in February, opened Off-Broadway October 10 for a limited engagement at the Greenwich House Theater. The show is scheduled to run through December 31.

Black Light is created and performed by artist Daniel Alexander Jones, whose alter ego Jomama made her comeback to the stage in 2010 following a 15-year hiatus. The show is a musical journey that fuses the Black American Freedom movement, Afromysticism, and goddess mythology with the musical influences of Prince, Sade, Diana Ross, and Tina Turner.

Directed by Tea Alagić, Black Light features original music by Jomama Jones with Bobby Halvorson, Laura Jean Anderson, Dylan Meek, and Josh Quat. Music direction is by Tariq al-Sabir, based upon Samora Abayomi Pinderhughes’ original arrangements.
