News Jonelle Allen, Rex Smith Will Join Carol Channing for The Desert's Largest Primetime Emmy Party The Channing-Kullijian Foundation for the Arts will present The Desert's Largest Primetime Emmy Party, featuring Tony Award winner Carol Channing, Sept. 18 at Lulu's California Bistro in Palm Springs.

The viewing party, set to begin at 6:30 PM, will raise money to support arts education in the public schools of Palm Springs and The Coachella Valley.

The Desert's Largest Primetime Emmy Party will feature a live and silent auction, food and drink, performances and the telecast of "The 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards."

Scheduled performers include Tony Award nominee Jonelle Allen (Two Gentlemen of Verona), Rex Smith (The Scarlet Pimpernel, Grand Hotel), Davis Gaines (The Phantom of the Opera, Camelot), Kamilah Marshall (Hairspray, Rent) and Barbara Van Orden. The evening will also include a special performance from the youth of Valley's public schools' arts programs.

Channing won the Tony Award in 1964 for her performance in Hello, Dolly! She is also the recipient of a special Tony Award and a Lifetime Achievement Tony Award. She has been nominated for her performances in The Vamp and Lorelei. Channing has also been seen on Broadway in Let's Face It!, Proof Through the Night, Lend an Ear, Wonderful Town, Show Girl and Four on a Garden.
