News Jones' "ShowFolk" CD Gives Folky Touch to Spring Awakening, Rent and Wicked The songs of Tony-winning composers Duncan Sheik, Stephen Flaherty and Jonathan Larson are featured on "ShowFolk," the debut solo recording from multiple Carbonell Award-winner Rachel Bay Jones.

Jones, who appeared in the Musicals in Mufti staging of It's a Bird. . . It's a Plane. . . It's Superman with Cheyenne Jackson, the Encores! concert of The Boys from Syracuse and the Broadway production of Meet Me in St. Louis, infuses her new 11-song album of Broadway material with an acoustic folk/bluegrass touch. Joining Jones are Megan McGinnis (Little Women, Les Miserables) and Randy Redd (What's That Smell?). The songs are newly arranged for such instruments as acoustic guitar, fiddle, mandolin, banjo, accordion, upright bass, cello and bouzouki.

Songs featured on the album are "Another Day" (Rent), "Breeze Off the River" (The Full Monty), "For Good" (Wicked), "Little Bird, Little Bird" (Man of La Mancha), "The Streets of Dublin" (A Man of No Importance), "Gonna Build a Mountain" (Stop the World…), "Left Behind" (Spring Awakening), "Wicked Little Town" (Hedwig), "Stars and the Moon" (Songs for a New World), "Where, Oh Where" (The Robber Bridegroom) and "Lucky to Be Me" (On the Town).
