News Joseph's Huck & Holden to Begin Off-Broadway Performances in 2006 Rajiv Joseph's Huck & Holden will begin a limited engagement at the Cherry Lane Theatre's Studio space Jan. 17, 2006.

Directed by Giovanna Sardelli, the production will feature Cherise Boothe, Nick Choksi and LeRoy McClain and will play through Feb. 11. Performances are Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 7 PM with Saturday matinees at 3PM.

Huck & Holden was developed as part of the Cherry Lane Mentor Project, which pairs noted dramatists with aspiring playwrights for an entire theatre season. Holden playwright Joseph worked with Omnium Gatherum's Theresa Rebeck.

Huck & Holden, according to press notes, concerns a "college student from India [who] comes to the U.S. to study engineering, but ends up getting a first hand look at the other electives America has to offer — like sex, porn, violence and 'The Catcher in the Rye.'"

Rajiv Joseph earned his MFA in Playwriting at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. He is also a 2005 Dramatists Guild Fellow and a 2004 winner of the John Golden Award for Playwriting. Joseph currently teaches Expository Writing at NYU.

The Cherry Lane Theatre's Studio is located in Manhattan at 38 Commerce Street. Tickets, priced at $25 and $5 (students), are available by calling (212) 989 2020 or by visiting www.cherrylanetheatre.org.
