News Josh Gad Will Co-Write and Star in "Gilligan's Island" Film Tony Award-nominated Book of Mormon star Josh Gad will star in a new film adaptation of the 1960s television series "Gilligan's Island," according to Deadline.com.

Gad, Benji Samit and Dan Hernandez are collaborating on the script. Lloyd Schwartz, Ross Schwartz, Tracey Silvers and Cathy Silvers will executive produce.

It has not been revealed which role Gad will play. Gad most recently voiced the role of snowman Olaf in the Disney animated feature "Frozen." He was Tony-nominated for his role as Elder Cunningham in The Book of Mormon.

It was previously reported that producer Dianne Fraser has acquired the stage rights to a musical version of "Gilligan's Island," which was seen in a 2009 national tour. It has a book by the late Sherwood Schwartz ("Gilligan's Island," "The Brady Bunch") and his son Lloyd. Music and lyrics are by Schwartz's daughter, Hope Juber, and her husband, Laurence.
