Josh Hamilton plays a young writer returning to his hometown for the first time in years, to ask hard questions about his family. Previews began Nov. 25.

The drama is directed by David Warren and continues to Jan. 26, 2003. The company includes Chelsea Altman (national tour of Proof), Rob Campbell, Kellie Overbey (Betty's Summer Vacation) and Callie Thorne. Hamilton's recent credits include Broadway's Proof and Off Broadway's The Waverly Gallery.

In the play, Jack "tries to piece together the memories and images from years of familial silence, posing the questions a child can only ask in adulthood," according to MTC production notes. "He grapples with his guilt at having abandoned them, as well as his own hopes and fears."

The work is the New York debut for playwright Corwin. Designers are Jim Youmans (set), Laura Bauer (costumes), Jeff Croiter (lighting), Fitz Patton (sound).

Next up on Stage I at MTC is the New York premiere of David Lindsay-Abaire's Kimberly Akimbo, about a teen dealing with a disease that makes her age rapidly, and the crazy family that surrounds her. Middle-aged Marylouise Burke stars in the title role.
