In tonight's concert, Bell will lead the SPCO from the concertmaster's chair in Vivaldi's The Four Seasons; Mozart's Rondo in C for Violin, K.373; Strauss's Suite for Winds, Op. 4; and the overture to Rossini's Barber of Seville. The program will be repeated on October 23 and 24.
The following weekend, he will again direct from the violin, performing works by Bach and Beethoven, as well as an arrangement of Brahms' Quintet in G for string orchestra.
