The film adaptation of A. Scott Berg's book, which is written by Tony Award winner John Logan, recounts the relationship between Thomas Wolfe and editor Max Perkins. Wolfe will be played by Law, and Logan will be played by Firth. Kidman will play Aline Bernstein. Law has performed on Broadway in Hamlet and Indiscretions. A two-time Academy Award nominee, his screen credits include "Cold Mountain," "The Talented Mr. Ripley" and "Sherlock Holmes." Kidman has appeared on Broadway in The Blue Room. She won an Academy Award for her performance in "The Hours" and was nominated for "Moulin Rouge!" and "Rabbit Hole." Firth is an Academy Award winner for "The King's Speech" and was nominated for "A Single Man." His screen credits also include "Love Actually" and "Mamma Mia!"
Tony Award winner Michael Grandage (Red, Frost/Nixon) will direct.
Logan wrote the Tony-winning play Red and I'll Eat You Last: A Chat With Sue Mengers. He is a three-time Academy Award nominee for "Hugo," "The Aviator" and "Gladiator."
