News Julie Wilson and Sidney Myer Will Be Honored at Cabaret Cares Gala; 25 Artists to Perform Cabaret Cares/Help Is On The Way Today, which was founded by producer Joseph Macchia, will present its annual fundraising gala May 18 at the Laurie Beechman Theater.

Tom Gamblin will host the evening, which will feature the presentation of Lifetime Achievement Awards to Sidney Myer, the actor/singer and long-time manager of Don’t Tell Mama; and beloved cabaret star, Julie Wilson.

Arsenio Amadis will receive this year’s Spirit Award, a tribute designated for an individual who has shown unusual support of the charity throughout the previous year.

The evening will feature the talents of Quinn M Bass, Frank Dain, Bob Diamond, Suzanne Dressler, Samara Ehrlich, Barbara Fasano and Eric Comstock, Eric Michael Gillett, Peggy Herman, Tanya Holt, Beau Howard, Robert Ima, Jillian Laurain, Valerie Lemon, Rosemary Loar, Sue Matsuki, Liz McKendry, Doreen Montalvo, Carolyn Montgomery-Forant, Jason Morris, Gretchen Reinhagen, Ricky Ritzel, Nesha Ward, Lennie Watts and Susan Winter.

Macchia founded Help Is On The Way Today in 2005 to assist children and youth living with HIV and AIDS. Since then the organization has raised over $80,000 and assisted more than 700 children in need.

The Gala will begin with cocktails at 5 PM followed by a live auction, a 6 PM buffet and the 8 PM performance. Tickets are $125 and can be purchased by clicking here.
