Cabaret singer and Broadway veteran Karen Akers begins a four week engagement at the Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel in Manhattan, April 24-May 19. Akers (Grand Hotel, Nine) and musical director arranger Don Rebic present songs by Randy Newman, Kurt Weill, Charles Trenet, Michel Legrand, Cy Coleman, Johnny Mercer and Harold Arlen. The new show plays 9 PM Tuesday-Thursday and 9 PM and 11:30 PM Friday-Saturday. The 11:30 PM weekend shows will be a reprise of Akers' acclaimed show from last season, Haunted Heart. A CD release of that show (retitled "Feels Like Home" on disc) is forthcoming from DRG.

The famed Algonquin Hotel is at 59 W. 44th Street in Manhattan. There is a $50 cover charge and a $15 food/drink minimum. For reservations, call (212) 840-6800.
