Kate Baldwin and Santino Fontana will co-star in concert performances of the 1993 musical The Goodbye Girl, which boasts a score by Marvin Hamlisch and David Zippel and a book by Neil Simon.

Zippel is directing the June 26 concerts at Feinstein’s/54 Below.

Baldwin, who is appearing on her night off from Hello, Dolly!, told Playbill, “I saw the out of town tryout and loved its humor and heart with such flawed humans at the center. And those Marvin Hamlisch songs with lyrics by my friend David Zippel give an actor so much to bite into. I'm thrilled to get to do it.”

There will be two performances of The Goodbye Girl concert 7 and 9:30 PM at the cabaret located at at 254 West 54th Street in Manhattan. Tickets cost $40–$80. Call (646) 476-3551 or visit 54below.com/events/goodbye-girl-concert.

Baldwin (Finian's Rainbow, Big Fish), who was Tony-nominated this year for her performance as Irene Molloy in Hello, Dolly!, is cast as downhearted single mom and former dancer Paula.

Fontana, who earned a Tony nomination for his performance as the Prince in Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella, plays Elliot, the overzealous actor who ends up moving into her apartment. His other Broadway credits include Act One, Billy Elliot, and The Importance of Being Earnest. He was also featured in the TV series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.

Also in the cast of The Goodbye Girl: Dan Rosales (Spamilton), Nicole Vanessa Ortiz (Spamilton), Kristy Cates (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), Carol Woods, Violet Young, Clara Young, and Lilyana Cornell.

The musical is based on the screenplay for the 1977 film starring Marsha Mason and Richard Dreyfuss, who won the Oscar for Best Actor. Bernadette Peters and Martin Short co-starred in the original 1993 Broadway production of The Goodbye Girl, which played the Marquis Theatre. It received five Tony Award nominations including Best Actress (Peters), Best Actor (Short), Best Choreography (Graciela Daniele), Best Direction (Michael Kidd), and Best Musical. It played 188 regular performances and 23 previews.

Songs from the Broadway production include “No More,” “Paula (An Improvised Love Song),” “How Can I Win?,” “I Think I Can Play This Part,” and “What a Guy.”

A revised version of the musical, featuring numerous new songs, premiered in London in 1997 starring Ann Crumb. Original cast albums of both the Broadway and London productions preserve the scores.
