Though actors and playwrights have long helped supplement their incomes by doing soap operas, June 12 will bring a rare opportunity for dancers to do the same. On that date, CBS TV's "The Guiding Light," which airs weekdays at 10 AM (EST, check local listings for schedule), is taping an episode that features a gala royal wedding between Prince Richard and his fiancee, Cassie. The episode is scheduled to air July 17.
As such, there'll be a big dance number -- albeit probably not a hora -- to be choreographed by James Horvath and to feature a number of Broadway dancers, five from Fosse and four from Kiss Me, Kate. According to "Guiding Light" spokesperson Alan Locher, the Fosse five are Jenni-Lynn Suckling, Josh Rhodes, Susan Lamontagne, Chris Lamontagne and Marc Oka. Vince Pesce and JoAnn M. Hunter will be among the Kate dancers.
Choreographer Horvath was a member of the dance company of Ain't Broadway Grand.
