PlayBlog Kate Shindle Joins Seth Rudetsky on Playbill Video's "Obsessed!" (Video) Kate Shindle, who was last seen on Broadway as the Mad Hatter in Wonderland, recently sat down with Seth Rudetsky on the latest episode of Playbill Video's "Obsessed!"

Here, Shindle talks about winning the Miss America crown in 1998. The actress tells Rudetsky about her platform—HIV/AIDS education—which was almost impossible to talk about in schools located in conservative towns, since she was given a list of words that she couldn't use, including "gay" and "condom." Shindle explains how she was able to bend the rules and educate others on such an important issue.

On a lighter note—or a higher note—Rudetsky asks Shindle to sing some songs she previously performed on Broadway, but this time adding in the high A flat that she sang at the end of "Legally Blonde Remix" in Legally Blonde. Originally, the high note wasn't written into the score, but Shindle decided that in order to pull focus back to her and away from the high-energy choreography, she had to do something—Rudetsky thinks that this concept could have worked for any song and asks Shindle to demonstrate.
