Chalfant (Angels in America, Passion Play) and Herrmann (Plenty, Mrs. Warren's Profession) will lead a cast that also features Kathleen Butler (Three Tall Women), John Carter (Broadway's A Delicate Balance), Ellen McLaughlin (Angels in America) and Keira Naughton (The Rivals).

Yale Rep artistic director James Bundy will stage A Delicate Balance, which officially opens Oct. 28 and runs through Nov. 23 in New Haven, CT.

The creative team includes Chien-Yu Peng (set design), Aaron P. Mastin (costume design), Alan C. Edwards (lighting design) and Sarah Pickett (sound design).

Here's a look at Yale Rep's details on A Delicate Balance: "Friday night in the suburbs. Agnes and Tobias (Chalfant and Herrmann) are a well-off, long-married couple who share their home with Agnes's older sister, Claire (McLaughlin), a self-proclaimed 'drunk.' The delicate balance of their lives has already begun to teeter when their best friends (Butler and Carter) arrive unexpectedly, asking if they can stay—indefinitely. The next day, their grown daughter (Naughton) shows up, expecting to move home again after the collapse of her fourth marriage. Agnes and Tobias soon realize they must make some difficult choices about what to do next."
